While Steve is NOT fluent in ASL, he does manage to communicate quite effectively with his limited ASL vocabulary and is constantly practicing and learning more. Steve's son-in-law is deaf and as a part of their "welcome to the family" Steve & his wife, Kathy, learned enough American Sign Language to sign the songs they were asked to perform at their daughter's wedding and to communicate with the wedding guests who were deaf (the majority of the guests).
