Dear Maui Custom Tours,
Steve was the absolute nicest guy I've ever met. He tailored the day to my desires - which included waterfalls and seeing the red sand beach in Hana. He introduced me to Twin Falls, which I loved so much he took me back a second time on the way home from Hana. He took me through a bamboo forest hike - dark and beautiful and quiet. He introduced and taught me about various flora and fauna all day. On a later tour on another island, my guide was impressed when I already knew what a rose apple was and the history of the African tulip tree. I love words and vocabulary, as Steve does. I tried to outwit him with my vocabulary to no avail. He is a very smart man.

He took me to tide pools by the ocean, right off a beautiful cliff. They were warmer than the ocean and were perfect swimming pools. He also played some of his very own music on my rental car's dvd player. Some was Hawaiian. When Steve shared with me about his family, I was very touched. I was traveling alone, so it was nice to be able to talk with someone and to have a traveling companion.

When he introduced me to Twin Falls (the one of the two he says is the prettiest), it was one of the most special moments of my life. I swam under the waterfall, around it, and explored the cave behind it. The water was cold, but my heart was as warm as it has ever been. And if I hadn't had hired Steve for the day, I would have never had seen it or known it was there. The commotion of Kihei and Wailea would have been all I would have seen. This waterfall alone is why I want to come back to Maui again and again throughout my life. Thank you so much Steve, for a day I will always remember and for introducing me to a waterfall I think about all the time.

Wow it is so hard to believe we are actually home in BC - yup and while we were enjoying Maui life over a foot of snow was dropped here.

We have left some cards at Kana'i A Nalu where we were staying and have talked to everyone about what a great day we had with you. Being taken to places that tourists, and yes I know we really were tourists, normally would not see was such a special treat for us both. In Mass. I used to work with a gal who had a farm in the Kula area. Upon our return I called her and started relaying all of the info about the places you had taken us. It was so special to have her then react as her memories were jogged from spending time herself at so many of those places. As we have told others, the day you guided us around the island was one of the best days we had while there. Thank you so very much for being willing to add your personal touch to our special vacation.

We have listened to your Hana CD so many times, I am afraid we will wear it out. We really enjoy that too. Maybe next time we are there we will be able to meet your other half who has such a beautiful voice. Or maybe even be in the audience where you are playing - that sure would be fun too.
